You might notice some changes today as you prepare to enter the Twilight Zone. The Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has reduced physical distancing measures.
Disney announced a few days ago, after updates to CDC recommendations, that the physical distancing policies around Walt Disney World would be changing in some locations and even eliminated in others over a period of time. Signage around the resort is already being updated to reflect these changes, and theme park capacity has been increased.
Over at the Hollywood Tower Hotel, the six-feet physical distancing markers are still in place in the queue.
However, the distancing markers at the load station are gone. Guests can once again stand on corresponding numbers near other parties while waiting to step aboard the elevator.
Additionally, every row is being filled in the elevators. Previously, only the front and back rows were being used. Seats labeled “3” on the right weren’t being loaded today, but Cast Members told us that will begin to be utilized tomorrow.
The increased capacity can be seen in an on-ride photo.
Other thrill rides, such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at the Magic Kingdom, have been loading every row for a while now.
