One of the jewels from a piece of 50th-anniversary bunting decoration on Cinderella Castle has fallen off.

The jewel is missing from one of the turrets on the west side of Cinderella Castle.

The broken decoration is visible when approaching the front of the castle. It was actually the first piece of bunting visible from Main Street, U.S.A.

A circle remains where the jewel was previously adhered to the golden piece. It looks like it was held on with a command strip, along with some other materials.

This is the only decoration to have had issues since they were completely installed. The jewel’s fall was possibly due to adverse weather this past week, which also caused attractions to close.

Below is what the gemstone looked like after it was initially installed.

Hopefully, we don’t see more of these supposedly weather-proof decorations broken before “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” actually begins.

  1. I cannot post a comment, too busy laughing in disbelief. I used to get angry at the cheap antics of these bozos. Now I can laugh at them.

…….A command strip. Eisner looks better every day.

  2. I mean, Disney has been getting cheaper and cheaper, year after year.
Is this really a shock anymore?

  3. In other news Tom Amity Corless spends an un-godly amount of money on first gem stone to fall off decoration on Cinderella Castle…this and moreeeeee at 11

  4. Good grief. You’d expect that kind of shoddiness from high school play scenery construction, not from a company that has billions of dollars. I have NO idea why those buttons weren’t molded from one solid piece of plastic, but if they had to be made in two pieces the jewels should have at least been secured in a more reliable manner. That could have severely injured somebody if they’d been hit.

From the brilliance of the Imagineers to this. How embarrassing.
