Luke, don’t forget your father on his special day. To celebrate Father’s Day this coming Sunday, Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs has created a new petit cake with a little help from the dark side.

I Am Your Father Petit Cake – $22

Red velvet cake, Cream cheese filling, Bourbon dark chocolate mousse, and White and Dark chocolate crisp pearls.

This cake is very moist and incredibly rich. The Bourbon mousse carried a heavy cherry flavor.

The cake is decorated with Darth Vader’s red lightsaber and bubble quote of the infamous words.

The overall presentation is “most impressive,” with swirled red and black fondant showing the true power of the Dark Side. But be careful, as the red and black coloring does stain.

The red velvet and chocolate flavors combine to make this a very heavy, decadent dessert best enjoyed somewhere with plenty of air conditioning and beverages at hand.

Unfortunately, the crispy pearls were stale from being inside this incredibly moist cake, so they didn’t lend any crunch or texture.

It does not fair well in the Florida heat, that is for sure. We personally would not get this particular rendition of the dessert again.
