Walt Disney Imagineering filed an extension of a set installation permit for the upcoming Indiana Jones ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Indiana Jones Ride Construction Permit

The original permit was filed in August 2025 and expired in one year — the standard for Notices of Commencement. The extension filed on July 2 adds another year, so it now expires in July 2027.
The permit contracts Mecca Productions, Inc. to “Install set elements” at the former DINOSAUR ride.
Although the permit was extended by one year, that doesn’t necessarily mean the project is delayed or that it will be finished in July 2027. Disney stated the Indiana Jones ride and the rest of the new Tropical Americas land would open in 2027, but didn’t give a more specific timeframe.

While the land’s Encanto ride is being built from scratch, the Indiana Jones ride is a reimagining of DINOSAUR. The DinoLand attraction used the same ride system and similar track layout as Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
This version of the Indiana Jones ride will have a brand-new story, however. Guests will follow Indy into a Maya temple, where he’s investigating rumors of a mythical creature.
