Indiana Jones may not follow maps to find treasure, but you’ll want to follow your map to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at The Landing in Disney Springs to try the new Bacon of Doom. A new twist on the popular Temple of Bacon, the Bacon of Doom comes with a shareable smoked cocktail.
Bacon of Doom – $32
Thick-cut Applewood-smoked Bacon dipped in The Ganachery’s Milk Chocolate, and Chipotle Ganache served with choice of a shareable smoked cocktail (Trusty Revolver or Snake Bite Margarita)

The Bacon of Doom is presented on a glass-ensconced wooden tray, shrouded by smoke and mystery.

The presentation is so good; it belongs in a museum!

We love the extra effects that make this themed dish perfect for an Indiana Jones bar.

The tray is branded with The Ganachery logo. The rich milk chocolate coating the bacon is from the nearby chocolatier. While the branding makes sense, the Temple of Bacon used to be served on a heavy stone tray that felt more thematically appropriate.

The thick applewood bacon also has bacon bits and a chipotle ganache. It’s delicious, but we think it would be better with dark chocolate.

We selected the Trusty Revolver cocktail (Bulleit Rye Whiskey, Tipplers Orange Liqueur, and Luxardo Cherries; smoked and served with an Ice Sphere). The last time we tried the bacon, we recommended pairing it with whiskey or bourbon. This whiskey cocktail was a perfect pair.

The Trusty Revolver leaves the strong smoky flavor to the bacon in favor of a smooth spice. The orange liqueur was prominent in the flavor palette.

Overall, we highly recommend this. The bacon was as delicious as we remembered, and the Trusty Revolver was delightful. The price point is high but saves you in the long run if you’re sharing. Start the engine and make your way to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar!

I had this the last time it was available at Jock Lindsey”s. I absolutely loved the idea of bacon and chocolate together. I hope this time it doesn’t taste like you’re eating a fire pit. All I tasted was smoke, which was a huge miss in my book because the flavors of the bacon and chocolate were cometely lost.
