The mountain and rocks surrounding Beast’s Castle in Magic Kingdom are receiving a fresh coat of paint. We noticed the refurbishment work beyond the gates of Be Our Guest Restaurant this morning.

A row of planters block part of the entrance courtyard from guest access.

Behind the planters are several things covered in dark green scrim.

Upon taking a wider look at the mountain, the rocks along the front seem significantly darker.

It looks like they have received a fresh coat of paint after fading in the sun.

Maybe the Beast’s Castle will also receive some fresh coats soon.

This is one of several refurbishment projects ongoing at Magic Kingdom, which will be celebrating its 50th birthday on October 1, 2021.

  1. It’s inevitable that WDW needs constant TLC. I think it’s great that the 50th anniversary is driving so much refurbishment and tuning up.
