With the grand opening of Velocicoaster today at Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando Resort also took the opportunity to entirely refresh their paper guide maps with a brand-new and more photorealistic art style.

The new maps place a large emphasis on the show buildings of each attraction for some reason, particularly visible in the map of Universal Studios Florida.

The map of Islands of Adventure of course depicts the newly-opened Velocicoaster, and features less of the gray boxes that fill the Universal Studios Florida side of the map.

Important to note as well is that all mention of COVID-19 guidelines, including physical distancing or mask requirements, have been removed entirely from the map’s safety information. Universal Orlando Resort notably lifted its mask mandate entirely last month for fully vaccinated Guests.

  1. Interesting to see in the map “Jursssic Park” section and everything listed out and Velocicoaster being the only attraction being branded “Jurassic World”.
