PHOTOS, VIDEO: Take a Look Inside The Avengers Suite Inside Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel
We were at Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel for its recent grand opening. In addition to visiting its lounges and gift shop, we were fortunate to experience three different accommodation types during our stay. We have already shared tours of an Empire State Club room and a Spider-Man Suite. Now let’s check out an Avengers Suite.
A half bathroom, with a single vanity and toilet, is immediately on the right after entering the suite.
The faucet reminds us of the Chrysler Building, which was featured in the first Avengers movie.
The vanity is stocked with themed cups and toiletries. Note that the new vanity appears to be cracked. This is part of the design, not a defect.
Towels include hand towels and washcloths. The black washcloths are intended to remove makeup.
The bathroom has a sliding pocket door. The door does not lock.
The Avengers Suite has the same touchscreen lighting and media controls we saw in the Spider-Man Suite.
The living room has a sleeper sofa and a chair. A dynamic Captain America print hangs above the sofa.
The sofa is finished in shades of silver. It is surrounded by a coffee table, end tables, and lamps. Red and blue throw pillows tie into the Captain America theme.
The coffee table pays tribute to Captain America’s shield.
The living room carries the shield design to the ceiling. The lighting fixture even has a star. Note the interesting shadows created by the illuminated floor lamps.
A red, silver, and blue chair rounds out the seating area.
The sofa unfolds to sleep two.
The carpet design looks like the lines used in comic books to indicate motion.
The living area also has a coffee station. Six drawers are available for use.
The Lavazza Blue coffee maker does a great job brewing a cup of coffee. Bottled water and themed cups are provided.
Coffee pods, tea, sugar, and creamer are stored in a drawer under the coffee maker.
A trilingual card has directions as well as descriptions of the coffee blends.
A writing desk and chair are placed below the television.
A Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel stationery set is provided.
A pop-open panel reveals power, USB, HDMI, and network connections.
The chair cushions are covered with velour.
A mini refrigerator is concealed behind a door under the writing desk.
A closet is located to the left of the coffee station.
Robes are provided for guests to use during their stay.
The robes are available in the hotel store for those looking to purchase one to take home.
The slippers in the Avengers Suite are different from those we found in other rooms. These slippers have an embroidered Avengers logo. Guests may take the slippers home at the end of their visit.
An umbrella is also in the closet. Unlike the robe and slippers, the umbrella is not for guest use. Guests can purchase the umbrella at the hotel’s reception desk.
The umbrella opens to reveal the Avengers.
The outside has Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel and Disneyland Paris logos.
Additional bedding, hangers, an iron, and an ironing board are available in the closet.
An additional sleeper sofa uses an Iron Man color scheme.
Unlike the other sleeper sofa, this one uses two separate twin mattresses. We found this an odd design choice.
Iron Man art hangs above this sleeper sofa. The textured wallpaper is used throughout the living area.
This perspective from near the bedroom shows an overview of the living area as well as the curved exterior wall.
The drapes have a repeating skyline design.
The view is impressive, even on a gloomy day.
The bedroom is fit for a god… the God of Thunder, that is. The Thor-inspired Asgardian decor is impressive.
The amazing lighted headboard is the room’s focal point, designed to look like Asgard. Adjustable reading lights are located on each side.
The bed runner features geometric Asgardian shapes.
A sitting area with two chairs and a small table is near the window.
The television is inside a mirror directly across from the bed.
Thor art adorns the wall.
A handy bench is below the Thor art.
The bedroom has a closet and six drawers.
When the doors are opened, the closet lights turn on. A clothes rod hangs below the shelf.
A shoe and laundry bag is provided, along with a shoe brush and a shoehorn.
Guests will find the electronic safe in the bedroom closet.
An additional bag, sewing kit, and shoe mitt are stored in one of the six drawers. A laundry order form is also found in the drawer.
The full bathroom has a jetted tub, a single vanity, walk-in shower, and toilet.
The deep, jetted tub is to the left of the vanity.
The tub has a large glass door.
Both a faucet and handheld shower head are included.
Numerous jets line the bottom of the tub.
A simple controller is used to turn the jets on and off.
The single vanity is dominated by a large sink. Toiletries and towels are provided. The bathroom also has a scale. Both the large mirror and makeup mirror are illuminated.
The walk-in shower and toilet are to the right of the vanity.
Rainfall and handheld shower heads provide water to the shower.
The accent tile carries the Asgard theme to the bathroom.
No storage shelf is above the toilet, making the vanity the only storage area in the bathroom.
