RUMOR: Walt Disney World Bringing Back Fireworks in Early July 2021

It’s the question everyone has asked since the reopening of the parks last summer: when will fireworks return to Walt Disney World? Well, the rumblings are that there should be nighttime spectaculars lighting up the skies by July.

According to cast members at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, they have heard that fireworks would be back in both parks by or around July 4th. Obviously, July 4th is a popular night for fireworks viewing at both of those parks, as typically, special shows or end tags are offered to guests for the American holiday.

As for what shows would perform, the expectation is that Happily Ever after will return to the Magic Kingdom, while EPCOT would temporarily run EPCOT Forever or have a very unexpected debut of the new show, Harmonious.

Until Disney announces anything, I would take this with a grain of salt, but it is worth noting that cast members are openly saying this to guests at both parks, and we have heard this from more than one source.

    • yep. and let’s hope this mask stuff gets gone too! but considering disney has all their masks on sale right now, i doubt it until their stock of masks runs out.

  1. What I was thinking all along! July 4th would be the perfect time to bring back firework shows!! Half of the adults in the US have had at least 1 vaccine shot, and cases are going down. Capacities are being increased and mandates are being lifted. Time to bring back fireworks JUST in time for INDEPENDENCE DAY! :D

  2. They have been rehearsing at Epcot, and it is definitely not Epcot Forever anymore. Here’s hoping the mouse gifts us a new show!

  3. Heard another rumor about having to pay for fastpass… Ohhh who does that benefit?? Yes the rich people … C’mon Disney.. just modify the existing fastpass system where yes u can book some fastpasses ahead of time but even the person coming out for the day can still get some! And not have to watch all the rich people walk by us while we are standing in the 2 hr long line for a 2 minute ride….
