Masks Encouraged Indoors for All Guests at Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Orlando Resort has issued a statement regarding the latest recommendations from Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and the Centers for Disease Control and Protection.

Masks are required indoors for all Team Members, and guests will be encouraged to wear a mask indoors. However, the policy has not officially changed, allowing vaccinated guests to go maskless.

Unvaccinated guests are still required to wear masks indoors.

  1. Good for Universal for not caving to pressure – especially when this will likely change again within a month. Let those who want to wear a mask wear one and let the rest of us enjoy the parks mask free.

  2. Unvaccinated guests are still required to wear masks indoors.”
And yet, they never do which is why we are in this situation now.
People are selfish and self centered.
They need to be told, like children, to take care of their fellow man.
Until then, this will rage out of control.

      • The longer the unvaccinated spread the virus, the more likely we’ll get a variant that the current vaccines don’t protect against. Since there’s no way to know who is unvaccinated and not wearing a mask, the option is to have everyone wear a mask.

  3. This decision takes enormous guts. Now everyone telling Disney visitors they can “choose not to go” if they don’t want to wear masks… the same can be said for Universal. Don’t like people without masks? Don’t go!

  4. Looks like we’re going to Universal! They have consistently out Disney Disney since COVID began. Reopening before Disney, Character interactions, mandatory sanitizer before getting on a ride, not furlough their workers, keeping shows, parades, and recognizing that personal freedom to choose the level of risk.

I heard from employees it is a whole new world, it definitely shows.

  5. Just stayed at Universal Orlando on-site hotel last week. Extremely disappointed at the lack of precaution taken. Upwards of 80% of the guests were not wearing masks and we were never asked weather or not we were vaccinated. Our entire family is and we wore masks as an extra precaution. There were obviously large populations of guest there with no vaccine and no mask not being considerate of others. The hotel didn’t do anything to help curb the transmission of COVID. Only disclaimers stating that they are not responsible for anything COVID related.
Now an updated policy ENCOURAGING guests to wear masks indoors. Not requiring them like Disney is. As usual, it’s all about the money and not the safety of their guests. Not a very good look on Universal. Extremely disappointed!!!

    • Same response to you as others are giving for Disney’s mask mandates. If you don’t like it, don’t go! As you stated yourself, the vast majority of customers don’t care about useless masks.

    • Jim, perhaps you should have done more research before visiting the parks during the busiest time of the year and you would have known what to expect. Universal is acting within local ordinances. You made that choice to visit. Disney wasn’t requiring masks either during that time, what makes them right and Universal wrong? And how do you know who was vaccinated? Sounds to me like you are a Disney fanboy and just looking for an opportunity to get a dig in on Universal.
