PHOTOS: Construction Continues in World Celebration Neighborhood at EPCOT

Construction has been moving along at what used to be Innoventions East. Set to be rebranded as part of the World Celebration neighborhood, the new area will be completely reimagined and become the home of new shopping and dining locations. Fan favorites like Club Cool will return with a new look alongside new concepts like the Creations Shop. We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress of construction going on, and it’s time for another look at how things are shaping up.

From the Monorail through the park, we can see just how big an area is being worked on for World Celebration. The worksite in the forefront of the photo above is the future site of Journey of Water inspired by Moana.

Progress here is moving glacially as the focus remains on Creations Shop and the adjacent new offerings.

The upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster looms in the background. As seen from this vantage point, the right side of the building will be the Creations Shop. The left side will house a new quick-service restaurant and a Starbucks.

From the ground, we get a closer view of the work being done near the new quick-service restaurant and Starbucks. The damaged overhang still has yet to be fixed, and it appears new orange tarps have been hung since our last check-in.

The rounded corner awning still has exposed beams, but new scaffolding has gone up around it.

Workers can be seen around the corner on the new scaffolding.

All along the scaffolding and roof, construction activity is humming along.

Taking a peek inside, we can see many exposed steel beams, and only work lights hung at the moment.

Further to the other side of the building, the painting is continuing.

The blue painter’s tape X’s have been removed from the windows, a sign of nearing completion and less major construction activity.

We can see here where the new and old color schemes meet as painting continues.

While Creations Shop and Club Cool are set to open this summer, no time frame has been given for the new restaurant and Starbucks.
