In a new video featuring Walt Disney Imagineers, we’ve got our first look at some of the dishes coming to Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the immersive hotel opening spring 2022 at Walt Disney World.
Though the names and exact locations of this food were not revealed, Imagineer Ann Morrow talked about how each dish was inspired by different elements from the Star Wars universe.
Morrow specifically talked about Galactic Starcruiser chefs taking inspiration from the planet Mustafar to create lava-like meals.

most unappetizing looking shrimp ever!
Star Wars inspired food should look like the food in Star Wars, not the planet parts in Star Wars. That is, food should not look like lava from any planet.
Is that like, a lot of food coloring?
It’s understanding that one would come to this assumption , but these “blue krill” from episode 4 of The Mandalorin are naturally changed to their unique blue hue: )
I’m still waiting to see how much it costs for a family of 4 to stay 2 nights. And please don’t call it “3 days 2 nights” when you know full well that the whole experience will last about 45 hours, no more, just like any other hotel stay. They will need 3 hours to clean the rooms.
Think three fifty a night for starters. That won’t include the goodies in the mini fridge or much less, anything else. You will be in a target rich environment, oh and, your wallet is the target.
I’m not getting a Star Wars vibe. I’m getting a molecular gastronomy/Asian vibe. I’m also getting an extremely expensive vibe. And, while my wife is a huge Star Wars fan, we won’t be staying there, or eating there because a) I’m sure it’s too expensive, and b) my wife is highly allergic to shrimp and sesame. Oh, well.
Is….is that BLUE shrimp?!?!
It looks like they painted earth food with artificial coloring. The blue shrimp looks about as appetizing as a plate of cockroaches. Glad I am not wealthy and will not be able to stay at this resort.
Extraordinary ! The amount of effort and consistency to realize a realistic menu based off the Star Wars Culinary world is absolute stunning .
The shrimp is based on the “blue krill” featured on episode 4 of the Mandalorin Disney+ series.
Disney’s culinary team were able to pull of these delicious shrimp by naturally creating the iconic blue hue in an inventive and creative culinary adventure!
So Disney didn’t learn the lesson we got from the Hulk Green chocolate sauce and purple Ketchup? No one wants this. Eww.
