Earlier today, Disney announced several new menu items that debuted at dining locations around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. We traveled to Ronto Roasters to try a few of these offerings out.
Kyryll Pork Rinds – $7.49
Pork rinds seasoned in a savory blend of ancho chili, cheddar, smoke, and cinnamon.
These pork rinds have a smoky flavor similar to barbeque, and are nowhere near as spicy as they look.
Despite the volume of flavoring visible on these pork rinds, they are a well-balanced combination of savory and salty.
The pork rinds have a very pleasant, lasting barbecue flavor, and a little bit of spice. They are a great snack offering, and we would get these again.
Andoan Fruit with Muja Sauce – $6.99
Sticks of jicama, cucumber, pineapple, melon, and dragon fruit doused in a tamarind sauce and dusted with peppercorn ash (plant-based).
This twist on the classic fruit has a tamarind sauce and peppercorn ash that gives a little bit of kick. The sauce itself is a bit spicy, but it’s complemented nicely by the fruit.
Cutting up otherwise easily recognizable fruit into spears makes it look somewhat otherworldly, fitting perfectly with the land.
The sauce gives a little bit of flavor where there otherwise might not be any. The tamarind gives a citrus base with flair from the peppercorn.
Overall this is a refreshing treat, especially in the Florida summer heat. We would get this again as well.
