Disney & Other Corporations Launch Plan to Fight $3.5 Trillion Economic Package

A Washington Post article this morning dropped Disney’s name as they explained a plan to fight against the Democratic tax plan.

Currently, there is a still-forming economic plan with intents to expand Medicare coverage, offer universal pre-kindergarten to all children, provide new help to low-income families, and invest substantial sums toward combating climate change. All of which will come with a hefty price tag and the ever looming possibility of tax increase. The Washington Post article states “Democrats’ plan to pay for the reconciliation bill through tax increases on businesses. Biden has proposed to raise rates to 28 percent from 21 percent”

Certain corporations, many from the Business Roundtable like Apple and Walmart, as well as companies such as ExxonMobil, Pfizer, and the Walt Disney Company, are pooling resources together to combat this economic plan. Their main complaint is focused on the hefty corporate tax increases.

  1. At the rate Disney has raised prices by more than 50% on tickets and merchandise they will more than make out even if this bill gets passed bob paycheck needs a new yacht. Done buying Disney’s greedy low level experience thank you universal for caring about your customers and passholders.

  2. boo hoo disney….if you can charge your customers $15 a day for what was free…you can pay your damn fair share in taxes.

  3. So they want to force there liberal agenda on us but don’t want to pay for it themselves? Typical.

  4. Disney: “haha, enjoy the annual pass holder price hikes and paying for your fast passes, peasants!”

Also Disney: “dOn’T iNcReAsE oUr TaXeS! wE cAn’T aFfOrD tHaT!”

  5. So Disney doesn’t have a problem fleecing its visitors with ridiculous prices and continual price increases but has a problem paying more tax which will go to the benefit of the countries’ citizens???

  6. At this point, Disney seems to be going out of its way to be the villain in the story. This BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION wants to stop infrastructure that has been needed for DECADES. WHY?! What company that profits off of hopes, dreams, and wishes would do this? They have been evil all along.

  7. Go woke, go broke. They get what they paid for with the candidates that they chose to support 🤷🏻‍♂️

  8. This is the type of thing that I draw a line on Disney getting involved in politics! They are selfish and ridiculous. They are worried about paying 7% more on taxes. They make millions! This bill will help everyday Americans! Shame on you Disney! It actually could help people come to your resorts!

    • The bill they are opposing won’t help any everyday Americans. The current corporate tax rates are the reason the economy, and in particular the job market, was doing so well prior to the pandemic. They are the only hope for recovering economically once it is finally over. It’s not about the taxes Disney pays – corporations don’t pay taxes, their employees and customers pay them.

  9. If they do…I will never go to the Disney Parks or buy their merchandise or products again. I’m sick of these Big businesses gouging the consumer but ALWAYS looking for ways to get over paying their fair share for the good of THIS country. Absolutely disgraceful! Disney (among others) has become too greedy!

  10. I hate that Disney is getting into politics! With what Disney is charging for the many businesses and services’ they can afford to help support the people that support THEM!!

  11. Great, the rich coming together NOT to save the world with their ridiculous wealth. I’m shocked. I give up all my overtime to taxes. While these effers pay $700 or nothing at all in taxes. Leaving us to pick up the tab. Screw Disney, Walmart, Exxon and the rest of the fools destroying our economy and ruining children. How disgusting to fight a plan to pull folks out of poverty and address climate change. Shame on anyone who still supports these animals. I take that back, animals are better than these fools. Put your money where your mouth is. Shop local, shop small. Give your money to companies that deserve it. The next gen is counting on us.

  12. Of course! The mega-rich gotta keep theirs, instead of helping the common man. And on top of all the price increases and reduction of benefits, too!

  13. Disney should pay the higher tax or raise thier cast members wages. They want to charge ridiculous admission rates, annual pass prices and merchandise, then they should help society. Same goes for Apple and Walmart.

  14. Could the “go woke go broke” crowd enlighten me on what part of the bill is so upsetting? Is it the education, infrastructure, medical care, corporate giants being forced to still pay less than their fair part of taxes?

  15. I think it’s hilarious that businesses that pay pennies on the dollar for their taxes, through loopholes, are even concerned about a tax increase.
