Halloween Horror Nights Returning to Universal Studios Japan Starting September 11th

After taking a hiatus last year in favor of a scaled-back Halloween event, Universal Studios Japan has announced that Halloween Horror Nights will indeed return to the park for 2021, in addition to a daytime “No Limit! Halloween” celebration!

From September 11th through November 7th, 2021, Universal Studios Japan will finally see the return of Halloween Horror Nights at the park, a first since before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019! When the sun sets over Osaka, zombies and monsters will appear, Guests can can experience an all-new horror maze, and a mystery theater!

Street Zombies

Evil moves endlessly after dark at Universal Studios Japan’s all-new “Psycho Street”! From 6:00pm to closing time, Guests can experience zombies brainwashed to attack Guests when the DJ’s psycho beats play throughout the park!

GeGeGe no Kitaro: The Real Horror Maze

Experience the horrifiying yokai, or Japanese spirits, from the world of the iconic manga GeGeGe no Kitaro! In an eerie abandoned village, Guests become prey for horrifying yokai! When the dependable Kitaro suddenly runs out of power, Guests roam lonely in the dark as they’re attacked in all directions by vicious, evil yokai spirits! This event requires a timed entry ticket and will be held all day.

Sherlock Holmes and the Cursed Red Sword

Under the pretense of an invitation to a full-scale horror theater and movie preview, Guests encounter a “cursed incident” around a mansion where Sherlock Holmes works were set… but encounter a horrific murder scene! And the worst part?The next victim may be you! Enter if you dare this amazing mystery experience! Timed entry tickets will be required for this experience and it will be held through most of the day in place of the Universal Monsters Live Rock ‘n’ Roll Show.

Zombies de Dance!

Around the park, Guests can join in dancing with zombies and monsters to dance along with the now-beloved “Rat-Tat-Tat” song, which we experienced last year!

Hollywood Dream: The Ride

For the third year in a row, the iconic “Rat-Tat-Tat” song by the J Soul Brothers from Exile Tribe will be available to Guests riding Hollywood Dream: The Ride and Hollywood Dream: The Ride ~Backdrop~!

NO LIMIT TIME! Halloween Festa

The 20th anniversary show NO LIMIT Time! will be converted to a special autumn version the whole family can enjoy this year, featuring a special autumn version of NiziU’s 20th Anniversary theme song!

Special greetings featuring the Minions, Peanuts, and Sesame Street friends in their Halloween garb will be all over the park to give Guests a more family-friendly spook.

Special Treats

And of course, special spooky treats will be available at the No Limit! Market in New York, including a chicken and chili tomato Dracula Bun, a bacon and basil cheese Franken-Dog, and a Berry Coke Chucky Float!

All of the No Limit! Halloween offerings begin September 10th at Universal Studios Japan, whereas Halloween Horror Nights offerings commence September 11th and are included with park admission. Do note that during this time, Guests will be required to purchase tickets in advance, and Annual Passholders must make park reservations before arriving as well. Reservations will only be required during the Halloween Horror Nights event through November 7th.
