It has been three weeks since scaffolding went up around the mountainside and eventually the castle at ‘Be Our Guest’ restaurant in Fantasyland. After a good pressure washing for the castle to remove dirt and old paint, it is now time to repaint it and bring back that luster just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. We stopped in at the Magic Kingdom today to check the progress of the refurbishment and we have lots to show you. Let’s dive in.

The castle is a bevy of activity as crews work to repaint the castle. Work is happening simultaneously on multiple levels of the castle at once.

As we take a closer look, we can see the bright pinkish purple color and the rich reds of the scaled roof that have been repainted are looking much cleaner and more vibrant than before.

Nearby, the trees and mountainside have recently received a fresh covering of snow, despite the warm August-in-Florida temperatures.

The other part of the mountainside is still covered with a massive amount of scaffolding as work continues repainting the rocks as well.

  1. We have reservations September 23 and I hope they are completely finished with the refurbishment by then. I can’t wait to see it! 😍
