Construction continues to chug along at the former site of Innoventions East in EPCOT. Now part of the new World Celebration neighborhood, the building is undergoing some radical remodeling. Let’s take a look at the latest update.

More concerted efforts are being focused at the former site of Electric Umbrella since work on Creations Shop is wrapping up. This building will eventually house a new quick-service restaurant and a Starbucks location.

A section of windows has been raised to allow access in and out of the building. Temporary wooden rails have been installed since the ground level is much lower than the building’s floor.

Further down, another section is open as well. A ramp is set up for ease of access.

Scaffolding still sits around the rounded corner, but little progress has been made.

A construction lift is present at the roof overhang where preparations for repainting are being made. So far, the painting has been completed up to the end of the breezeway, as seen on the right.

Patches where damage was repaired can be seen along the overhang.

At the breezeway, it appears work is being done with a wet saw, likely for tile or concrete.

Crews have also begun to repaint the beam from blue to gray.

Over by the courtyard area, exterior lights have begun to be installed at Creations Shop.

Creations Shop and the adjacent Club Cool are set to reopen this summer.

The lights have not yet been installed in the area next to the recently reopened Family Play Zone.

We expect to see the lights installed soon as the beams have been prepared.

The courtyard by one of the shop’s entrances is looking nice as the foliage grows in.

We can see straight through the doors to another entrance to the shop. Light panels and fixtures are visible as well.

Nearby in the courtyard, two booths for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival are progressing. This area will be home to Lobster Landing and Mac + Eats, both of which are due to open on October 1.

Utensil dispensers and register stands are set up outside both booths.

A tree and lamppost have been removed at the Family Play Zone on the far edge bordering the Creations Shop courtyard.

White lampposts line the edge of the pathway here.

By the planter wall, we can see the base of a former lamppost.
