Adventureland is being restored to its 1970s appearance with jungle green pavement replacing the grey. This is just one of many pavement projects we’ve seen at Magic Kingdom as it approaches its 50th anniversary, with Tomorrowland’s “gears” and Fantasyland’s rockwork both recently replaced.

The green pavement has been laid outside of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.

Today’s new section of pavement is a darker green as it dries. Soon it will match the paler green section laid last week.

New green pavement will presumably be laid throughout the land over the coming weeks.

  1. It is cool that they are returning to the 1970’s look even though I prefer the grayer pavement. While they are at it, I wish they would rebuild the 1970s twin fountains at the entrance to Tomorrowland.

  2. well isn’t it all just wonderful? raise prices, tear up perfectly good concrete for some reason, and people are supposed to be wowed?

  3. It looks gross but by the time it’s all done it’ll probably look alright. I thought the same of the Bonjour Gifts paint job while it was in progress, and now it looks nice.
