Charcuterie with Imported Spanish Meats, Cheeses and Olives with an Herb Vinaigrette – $6.50

This dish is the same as last year.

We really liked this dish. Everything seems fresh. The olives are firm, the cheese is brittle, and the meats are tender.

The herb vinaigrette adds a nice coating of subtle flavors to everything without overpowering the other tastes.

Spanish-style Paella with Chorizo, Shrimp, and Rice – $5.50

Spanish-style paella is a staple at the Spain booth, and it returned this year with no changes.

PaellaSpainBooth2020

The paella wasn’t as good as the charcuterie. The rice seems a little overdone, and the shrimp is nothing to write home about. If anything, the chorizo is the winner of the dish, giving it a little kick. Otherwise, the paella is blander than we expected.

Seafood Salad with Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Mussels, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Balsamic Vinegar, and Smoked Paprika – $6.25

The Seafood Salad has returned with the price raised by a quarter. This dish is really oily. This is understandable, given the mixture is tossed in olive oil, but when half the glass is filled with oil, that’s not fun. Still, there’s a healthy mixture of shrimp, scallops, mussels, olives, peppers, and more, making for a unique and flavorful offering. The price might be a bit too much if you don’t get a few good pieces of seafood, but we feel it’s a risk worth taking.

*NEW* Avaline White Blend – $6

From Avaline: “An everyday, easy-drinking White blend. She’s dry with a touch of citrus and a crisp, fresh finish.”

*NEW* Faustino VII Rioja Rosado – $5

From Faustino: “Clean, bright, intense, strong red color with lilac rim. On the nose is intense, red fruits aromas stand out. Pleasant and balanced in the palate; red fruits notes stand out. Medium finish.”

Espelt Garnacha – $5

From Espelt: “The Garnatxa Blanca from Espelt comes from their highest elevation vineyard, Rabós, tucked in the Alberes Nature Reserve Area. These are the oldest vines on the property with centenary Garnatxa Negra and Carinyena, as well as spritely 50-year-old Garnatxa Blanca vines on sandy slate and granite soils. The richness of the fruit is complemented by aging in second-and third-fill French oak barrels.”

*NEW* Wine Flight – $6.25

*NEW* Estrella Galicia Cerveza Especial Lager – 6 oz. $5.00/ 12 oz. $9.00

From Estrella Galicia: “Lightly floral and herbal flavors, with a moderate warm mouthfeel, and intense hoppy bitter taste that lingers the mouth.”

  1. Excited about Estrella. Our trip to Spain a few years ago we had a few (lots) of Estrella’s! Mighty tasty!
