RUMOR: Shanghai Disneyland Building Multi-Launch Roller Coaster

A new roller coaster may be on its way to Shanghai Disneyland. In an email posted by Twitter user @MasaneMiyaPA, the Shanghai International Theme Park Co., Ltd., one of the companies that manage Shanghai Disneyland, will be accepting bids for a ride system manufacturer.

The bidding window began August 20 and will run until August 27 on weekdays only. The email states that the project is a “outdoor high-speed roller coaster” with “two launches and multi-switch track elements.”

The email does not divulge any thematic elements or locations for the roller coaster. It’s also important to note that many theme park attractions go through the developmental stages but never make it to construction. At this time, no new roller coaster has been confirmed by Disney.
