During our visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, we saw a sight we thought we’d never see: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance boarding groups still available after 4 p.m.
At the time of writing this article, guests using the My Disney Experience app were being assigned to boarding group 165 with an estimated wait time of 230 minutes. Guests in groups 101 – 133 were able to enter the attraction.
Boarding groups are released twice a day — 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Often, the groups are gone within minutes of distribution. It’s very rare to still have available groups this late into the afternoon.

Save Splash Mountain!! Expand the park and add a Princess and the Frog attraction!!
Question: do you need to be in Hollywood Studios to get a boarding group? Or just Disney property?
Last week on August 8th, we had gotten up early to join the Star Wars queue for Rise of the Resistance. By 7:01 all spots were gone. Once in side the park, we had 2 phones out, one phone with the Disney app open and another phone counting the time until 1:00pm. Once 1:00pm struck, I hit
join Queue. I was able to get in, but was slow to hit submit. We did get tickets for a Backup Group :156. I know it sounds like a lost cause, but at 7:57pm, our group was called. So, don’t give up hope, even with a high number you can get in. Soooo worth the wait in the rain.
