Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closing for refurbishment on January 4, 2022. The popular attraction will reopen in mid-April.
The refurbishment will reportedly address the ride system. At this time, no repairs are planned for the infamous Yeti animatronic.

Goodness, they can do this at DAK, which has a low ride capacity already, but they can’t update BTMRR at MK? Sad time we’re living in. It’s even worse if they don’t tough the Yeti in all that time.
Lol I’ll be there in February so that kind of stinks because the kali river ride may be closed at that time as well. I think that’s like half the rides at animal kingdom.
Another reason to wait on getting an annual pass…. Sigh
I think they’re missing a huge opportunity here: guests could wake up early to compete to pay a $50 upcharge to see the Yeti with full motion, accessible from the Lightning Lane, of course.
They should fix the Disco Yeti, but I don’t think they will. To fix the Yeti, they have to take the mountain apart. Poor planning.
Lets be honest, Disney is never going to fix that thing.
Closing not to fix the Yeti but to replace it with a giant Joe Rhode animatronic.
