Deadline has reported that Disney and Scarlett Johansson have reached a settlement for the “Black Widow” lawsuit. Johansson had sued Disney over a breach of contract after sending the Marvel film to Disney+ Premier Access alongside the theatrical release, citing lost revenue.
Terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, but Johannson was cited as “happy to have resolved [our] differences.”
Due to the lawsuit, the upcoming “Tower of Terror” movie was rumored to be canceled as Johansson was slated to produce and star in the film. However, with the resolution of the lawsuit, it looks like the movie is moving forward. “We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s ‘Tower of Terror’,” said Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Bergman.
