The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for a while now due to the many refurbishments around the Magic Kingdom, especially with the TRON Lightcycle Run construction. It looks like the trains won’t be back up and running by the 50th anniversary on October 1.
However, one piece of the railroad refurbishment project appears to be running at full steam as the Frontierland Railroad Station repainting looks to be nearing completion.
Arriving in the Splash Mountain entryway, you can see how the bright red of the Frontierland Railroad Station stands out.
While on our last visit, the center part of the station had been the only part repainted. Now, the sides of the house and the trim are sporting a new coat as well.
However, on the backside of the station, facing the Splash Mountain queue, it looks like there is a little more work to be done.
Scrims can be seen up behind the railing as work continues.

“The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for a while now”
This is arguably the understatement of the century.
