Last month, we spotted signage outside Restaurant Akershus for a new corporate lounge. Today, the new Florida Blue lounge has opened at the former site of princess dining and will be open until November 20 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is still listed as “temporarily unavailable” on the official Walt Disney World website, and a small banner reading “Princess Storybook Dining” hangs outside the entrance. However, the banquet hall has been transformed into a private lounge requiring a guest pass to enter.
Florida Blue banners adorn the lounge.
Lemon water and regular water are available at the buffet line.
Guests with valid passes can enjoy complimentary refreshments within the lounge. A selection of snacks including apples, apple slices, oranges, yogurt, hummus, Babybel cheese, and vegetables are available. Flavored sparkling water is also offered.
Corporate lounges are commonplace at EPCOT, though many are now shuttered as sponsorships ended. It’s unclear what will happen to the space after November 20, as no official announcement has been made.
