VIDEO: We Did Whatever Disney Genie Told Us To Do at Magic Kingdom

Disney’s new Genie service debuted recently as a guide to help guests maximize their day in the parks. This free guide is a real-time wait time tracker that monitors when lines are low to suggest that guests head to a particular attraction at the best time. WDWNT’s own Eric Morton wanted to put this Genie to the test and see if the suggestions really did maximize what guests can do while minimizing wait times. Check out our video on our YouTube channel, or find it right here:

Disney Genie led Morton around the park with suggestions as he crisscrossed Magic Kingdom in pursuit of short lines. Attractions including The Barnstormer, Mad Tea Party, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and more, as well as dining at a few of Magic Kingdom’s less crowded eateries.

Morton found that in most cases, the wait times projected by Disney Genie and the wait times on the signs in front of attractions were actually longer than the real wait times he experienced. The most drastic difference was a projected 55 minute wait at The Haunted Mansion, where he only waited 17 minutes to board.

Take a look at the video and let us know if you’d like to see Eric Morton and his Disney Genie hit the other parks. For more like this, take a look at some of the extra benefits that comes with the paid service, Genie+. And the Lightning Lane paid ride reservation system debuted at the same time as Genie, so take a look at our guide on this service.
