Sea urchins naturally pick up objects for decoration or camouflage, and once the hats were in their environment, they decided to put them on.

Ranger the epaulette shark got in on the fun, too!

  1. I just saw the urchins in their Mickey hats on Wednesday! A cast member approached us and told us all about them after she saw our excitement. It took them about a year to come up with the right size and weight for the hats to be just right. It’s cool that’s it’s a natural habit for them to decorate themselves and Disney just makes it more fun! They are also in the process of creating holiday/seasonal hats for them as well. So cool! Definitely a new favorite hidden Mickey object to spot!
