Guests staying at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villas, and other select hotels can now experience extended evening hours on select days at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. We attended the first evening offering at Magic Kingdom on October 6 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Wait times weren’t too bad at 9:00 p.m. as the park closed for regular guests. The highest wait was for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 45 minutes, though that went down later in the night.
Splash Mountain and Jungle Cruise had longer waits, which makes sense as they would not be available during extended evening hours. Here’s the list of attractions advertised as available during extended evening hours at Magic Kingdom:
- “it’s a small world”
- Astro Orbiter
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Country Bear Jamboree
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Haunted Mansion
- Mad Tea Party
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
- Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- Swiss Family Treehouse
- The Barnstormer
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
- Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
By 10 p.m., most wait times were between 5 and 15 minutes.
Space Mountain had a 15 minute wait.
There was a PhotoPass photographer outside.
Tomorrowland Speedway had a 5 minute wait.
So did Mad Tea Party.
There was practically no one in Storybook Circus, where Dumbo the Flying Elephant and The Barnstormer both had 5 minute waits.
Guests could also enjoy Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station.
Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid had a 5 minute wait.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train settled to a 35 minute wait.
Some snack carts and counter-service restaurants were open. In Fantasyland, guests could visit Storybook Treats for ice cream.
Aloha Isle, Casey’s Corner, and Sleepy Hollow all had mobile order available throughout the evening.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel had a 5 minute wait.
The exact wait time for Mickey’s PhilharMagic depends on when you walk up, but My Disney Experience advertised a 10 minute wait for the 12 minute show.
Peter Pan’s Flight had one of the longer wait times, between 20 and 30 minutes throughout the night.
Across from Peter Pan’s Flight, guests could board “it’s a small world” in 5 minutes.
The Haunted Mansion was also a bit more popular with a 15 minute wait.
Like Mickey’s PhilharMagic, the wait for Country Bear Jamboree was approximately 10 minutes.
Big Thunder Mountain had a low wait time of 5 minutes.
Pirates of the Caribbean was also 5 minutes.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room was advertising a 10 minute wait between shows.
Aloha Isle Refreshments was mostly empty, so it would be a great time to get a DOLE Whip.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin had a 5 minute wait.
Heading back towards Main Street, U.S.A., guests could get a crowdless view of Cinderella Castle as a beacon of magic.
There were a handful of guests waiting at Casey’s Corner for their mobile orders to be ready.
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor was also open.
As was the Main Street Bakery.
Of course, shopping was also available. The Emporium was open all night.

Most people can’t afford to stay at the deluxe resorts so I can understand why the wait times for the rides were so low. Disney needs to go back to having extra magic hours in the morning and evening for all hotel guests including the good neighborhood hotels. If Disney were thinking about the bottom line they would realize that they would make more money off all hotel guests during extra park hours because they would sell a lot more things such as food and merchandise.
through all of covid, disney has pretty much ignored dvc members. i guess this is the thrown bone for us.
