REVIEW: Chili-Lime Caramel Mix in NEW KiteTails Popcorn Bucket at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In honor of today’s 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, all the parks are launching a big celebration. We have seen some major merchandise releases, some new experiences, and lots of new snacks and treats. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we’ve got a double-whammy of new surprises, as well as a returning favorite, all in the same place.

KiteTails Popcorn Bucket — $12

This new popcorn bucket is tamer in size and shape than the Mickey balloon popcorn buckets released this morning at Magic Kingdom. But the design is brand new, featuring Mickey and the gang watching the newest show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, KiteTails, which officially opened today.

The popcorn bucket comes filled with popcorn for the $12 price. Guests can choose between two specialty popcorns — 50th Celebration Rainbow Popcorn or Chili-Lime Caramel Corn Mix. We’ve had the rainbow popcorn before when it debuted in 2019, and you can read our review right here. So we opted to try the other one, which is brand new.

The popcorn comes bagged with nutrition information, which is nice if you want to keep your popcorn bucket pristine and clean all day.

We, however, want that classic Disney popcorn bucket experience, so we dumped it all in. It doesn’t quite fill the bucket, but it’s still a sizeable amount of popcorn.

This popcorn has some kick to it. It’s a great mix of spicy, sweet, and salty. All yellow pieces are classic salted popcorn, with the red and blue being the chili-lime caramel flavored. Although it’s unmistakably a chili flavor, it’s not as spicy as you would originally think. The other flavors help balance it out. This popcorn is very similar to what Batuuan travelers may find at Kat Saka’s Kettle in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

We thoroughly enjoyed this popcorn and its stylish new bucket. Don’t forget to check out our review of the 50th Celebration Rainbow Popcorn as well, to get the full experience.
