Whenever anyone asks us where to get the best drinks at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, we always point them in the direction of the Watering Hole in Jurassic Park. This little stand serves up some delicious mixed cocktails and frozen drinks, but a brand new beverage has joined the pack. After the food offerings were removed from this stand, an additional alcoholic drink named the “Fossilizer” was added to the menu. We were dying to get our hands on one of the new Jurassic World plastic cups and decided to get a Fossilizer to go along with it.

Coconut rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, sour mix, and Sprite

Coconut rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, sour mix, and Sprite are combined for a beautiful teal-colored beverage. And don’t forget the cherry garnish!

Not only does the Watering Hole have the best drinks, but you can also find one of our favorite bartenders in all of Universal Orlando. We’ve never had a bad drink from the Watering Hole, so we were excited to dive into this new beverage.

Even though we aren’t huge fans of coconut, it was very mild, allowing the pineapple juice to be the star of the show. We were impressed by how balanced and refreshing this drink was, but it sure packed a punch! The liquor was smooth and hidden behind the fruity flavors. Despite the coloring, this drink wasn’t overly sweet and is the perfect “liquid courage” before a ride on the VelociCoaster.

Typically, these drinks are served in souvenir cups and allow you to get a discount on your next alcoholic beverage. We’ve learned that if you take a selfie with your souvenir cup, you can get the discounted price on the refill even if you left your cup at home. Lucky for us, we have plenty of selfies with our souvenir cups from the Watering Hole and were able to purchase this beverage at the discounted price. If you’re planning a trip to Islands of Adventure and are looking for the perfect adult beverage, make your way directly to the Watering Hole for the Fossilizer, or any of the other delicious drinks on the menu. What could go wrong?
