We’ve always wondered what Snow White’s poison apple tasted like before she fell into that deep sleep, and now, a new Halloween treat lets you find out. We decided to try the new Poison Apple Cupcake now available at Good’s Food to Go in Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

The treat is listed online as the Poisoned Delight but in the shop as the Poison Apple Cupcake.
Poisoned Delight/Poison Apple Cupcake – $5.99
Violet white chocolate mousse dome with an apple insert and fresh apple cake covered in a white chocolate glaçage

We found it odd that both at the display and online, this dome cake was listed as a cupcake.

This was an interesting cake, to say the least. The dome itself was fine. It tastes like most other Disney dome cakes. The icing around the edge was great as well.

Then you get to the apple filling, which was disappointing. The taste of the apples was pretty good, though it was the typical “canned apple pie filling” Disney often uses. Since it’s a dome cake, the filling is not warm, which was less than pleasant.

The taste was good, but eating it was a different experience. The apple filling was unpleasant for a cake. Mixed with the dome icing, it gave the cake an overall “slimy” texture.

We won’t be ordering it again.

It makes you wonder how these things ever get approved for sale.
That is housemade apple filling, not canned.
Yeah, didn’t taste that way though.
I can walk you through the recipe if you need proof.
