In honor of Walt Disney’s birthday today, December 5, Disney has shared a behind the scenes look at the making of a new statue coming to EPCOT.
Originally shared at Destination D23, the video shows Imagineers hard at work on a scale model of the statue before fabrication of the actual statue begins. The Walt Disney statue is coming to Dreamers Point, an area past Spaceship Earth that is part of the reimagining of EPCOT.

While Epcot as it was built isn’t exactly in line with Walt’s vision for what EPCOT (back when it was an acronym) would be, it’s still a fantastic place to visit, and I’m glad they’re honoring Walt in the park.
