The Spirit of Aloha dinner show has permanently closed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the building is now being demolished to make way for a new Disney Vacation Club wing.

From the Monorail, we could see exposed steel where the thatched roof used to be.

On the ground, we got a look at the front of the building. Sure enough, the thatched roof has been entirely removed. The show’s surfboard sign was gone a few weeks ago.

On the road, construction materials were staged nearby.

There were piles of pipes.

We could see some crew members through the trees.

Sad to see DVC villas be more important than classic Disney entertainment.
Glad we were able to see the show a few years ago with my wife and children. Sad to see a quality entertainment removed for more rooms for those with the money. Disney is all about making a buck, rather then family entertainment.
