REVIEW: Pain & Panic Hot Dog and Winifred’s Elixir of Youth Are Tricks, Not Treats for Halloween at Magic Kingdom
If you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom during Halloween time, there are some special spooktacular sweets available. We stopped by Casey’s Corner to try the Pain & Panic Hot Dog and Winifred’s Elixir of Youth.
Pain and Panic Hot Dog – $11.99
All-beef hot dog, sweet and spicy onion relish, and sriracha mustard topped with spicy cheese-flavored snacks
This is your basic Casey’s foot long but smothered in sweet onion relish and lots of Dijon with hot Cheetos. It’s a lot; there’s too much going on. The amount of Dijon you get in each bite is very overwhelming (and while the menu lists sriracha mustard, it’s definitely the average Dijon).
The onions don’t do much to diversify the flavor profile. You do get a little bit of sweetness from them, but not enough to make a difference.
The Cheetos were a little stale, but also provided some kick.
Black tea slushy with kiwi foam and Winifred chocolate piece

This was a weird experience, because at first, it’s light and refreshing with just a little hint of sweetness. But after you get your first initials sips, it follows with a cough syrup taste that lingers on your tongue.
The amount of food coloring is kind of alarming. After a few sips, it turned our tongue dark gray.
The kiwi foam has more of a gel consistency. It’s not sweet, and while the kiwi flavor comes through, it has an odd aftertaste. The Winifred medallion was too sweet to pair with this drink.
