REVIEW: Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie Returns for August 2022 to Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs
A new month is upon us, and that means a new monthly special cookie at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs. August brings back an old favorite, the Key Lime Chocolate Chip!
The new character on the menu is Captain Cagliostro, whose lime-green eyes pop on the card.
There’s also a little bit of the good captain’s backstory on the menu. It reads:
Legend speaks of raven-haired mermaids that have gifted key limes to weary sailors for centuries. And if there is any truth to the rumors, the illustrious Captain Cagliostro took those limes and created the world’s first key lime pie to delight his crew and protect them from scurvy.
The cookie was last seen as the monthly special in July 2021. Let’s take a taste down memory lane!

Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie – $6.00
Our vanilla bean cookie dough infused with Florida key lime juice and covered with chocolate chips and our special key lime pie crumbs.
The Key Lime Chocolate Chip Cookie is the standard almost 1/2 pound rendition and looks very much like their Original Chocolate Chip, but with a spattering of sea salt and cake crumbs over top. The rich chocolate chips and under-baked dough you’ve come to expect are present.
The lime flavor is subtle, matching the look of their Original Chocolate Chip Cookie in taste as well as looks with just a squeeze of key lime for flavor. Key lime is normally a very strong, tangy flavor so we were expecting more of a punch with this one, but it cut through the chocolate and salt nicely – just not so in-your-face as you would expect.
