The latest viral video from Disneyland Resort features a smoking phone on Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters in Disney California Adventure.

The TikTok video by @hunterjakesteele says, “When your sister breaks the whole ride at Disneyland because she drops her phone and it starts a literal fire” as it zooms in on a smoking phone in front of one of the ride’s vehicles.

After the guest dropped her phone, it was reportedly run over, after which it started smoking. The ride was then stopped. Not all guests were immediately evacuated — some can still be seen sitting in their vehicles.

The video was posted yesterday, February 4, 2023. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters is temporarily closed today, according to the Disneyland app, but it’s not clear if the closure is due to this incident and it seems somewhat unlikely.

At the end of the video, the crushed phone was recovered and returned to the owner.

At least this guest incident seems like an honest accident in which nobody purposefully broke a rule and it likely won’t cause significant damage to the attraction. Other recent viral videos from Disneyland Resort have shown guests risking injury and being trespassed from the resort by bringing fireworks into a park, climbing onto a Lunar New Year float, and jumping into the water at Grizzly Peak.
