*NEW* Crab & Dumplings – $14.99

curried chickpeas, spicy bara flatbread, micro cilantro, and mango chutney

If you like soft-shell crab, this is a nice portion of crab meat inside a very thick, creamy stew type of base.

The curry flavor isn’t too strong. The dumpling top reminded us of pita bread.

The price is a little steep for a festival booth, but you are getting a very large portion of soft-shell crab and if you factor in the discount card and any AP discounts, it makes it a little bit more affordable.

*NEW* Chickpea Doubles – $5.99

curried chickpeas, spicy bara flatbread, micro cilantro, and mango chutney

This was amazing. The smell of curry hit us as soon as we took the plate and this turned out to be quite a surprise.

The curry and chickpeas were nice and savory and the “bread” they were served on was airy and spongy.

The mango chutney blew us away with its intense sweet heat and quickly became a memorable dish.

This was our top pick from this booth.

Pholourie – $7.49

deep fried spicy split pea dough with turmeric, curry powder, and a side of tamarind chutney

This was a huge improvement from the 2021 version but we probably wouldn’t recommend it. There was a lot more fried dough pieces than actual substance to it.

It was like a fritter or funnel cake, nice and crunchy and coated with sweet powdered sugar. The sauce was spicy and sweet, but mostly savory, which really made this an interesting choice.

We enjoyed these but don’t think we would them again or really recommend them for the portion size. But they were good so if you must try them, don’t let us stop you.

Carib (ABV 5%) – $9.50

a full-bodied golden brew with a rich combination of malt and hops

Shandy Ginger (ABV 0.9%) – $9.50

Carib brewed beer combined with a zing of ginger

Shandy Lime (ABV 0.9%) – $9.50

Carib brewed beer combined with a kick of lime

Shandy Sorrell (ABV 0.9%) – $9.50

Carib brewed beer combined with the spicy sweetness sorrel with a kick of lime

  1. This is not a representation of Trinidad and Tobago food, This was an insult to our food and culture. It’s not even close, I suggest Universal contact a Trinidadian to show them how to make our foods.
