Chairs and carpeting have been replaced in the public areas of the Boulder Ridge Villas building of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, but the new replacement furniture is void of theming. The rooms of Boulder Ridge were recently refurbished, too.
Boulder Ridge Lobby
In the lobby, the couch and chairs have fresh new cushions and throw pillows.
The couch and armchair seats are now light brown leather, while the back cushions and throw pillows have a red, white, and brown Southwestern pattern.
Previously, the couch and armchairs had all red cushions.
The rocking chairs now have brown leather seats and backs. They previously featured darker seats and Southwestern patterned backs.
Iron Spike Room
In the Iron Spike Room, there are two new sets of chairs. This “train room” includes model trains and other decorations inspired by Walt’s love of rail transportation.
In this corner, the chairs have received new red pleather seats and red tree-patterned back cushions.
At the center of the room, in front of the faux fireplace, the brown leather armchairs have been replaced with these heather gray rocking armchairs — which don’t quite match the theme of the room.
It looks like the rugs have been cleaned, too, as the colors are popping more than they once did.
The wooden high-backed chairs at the tables around the room also have new brown cushioning.
Watch our 2016 tour of the room to compare the old chairs and the new, and get a closer look at some of the train memorabilia found at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
In the guest room hallways, there is new Southwestern carpeting in place of the former tile flooring.
The carpeting is mostly green with red, black, and white patterns.
The large pattern at each room hub features the silhouettes of a fish, a bear, and birds.
Some rooms are still being refurbished, but cast members have reassured us that guests are only being placed in the newly refurbished rooms.
