The Chocolate Cake has been given a makeover for 2023, replacing whipped cassis mousse, raspberry gelato, and fresh raspberries with black currant ganache, mixed berry ganache, and chocolate ice cream.

Boneless Impossible Korean Short Rib – $6.75
with Cilantro-Lime Rice, Danmuji Slaw, and Kimchee Mayonnaise
This was better than any other actual beef dish at the event. It tasted like real, tender short rib, was nicely seasoned, flavorful, and accompanied by decent cilantro-lime rice.
*NEW* Impossible Lumpia with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce – $5.50
The meat substitute used is pretty comparable to the real deal. The one complaint that we had was the exterior of the pastry is a bit tough. Aside from that, the Thai chili sauce adds a pleasant sweetness to the entire dish. For just $5.50, this is a pretty good deal as for each order you receive five rolls.
*NEW* Chocolate Cake – $5.00
with Black Currant Ganache, Mixed Berry Compote, and Chocolate Ice Cream
We have to admit, this dessert may not be for us. Between the color of the cake being reminiscent of sod, and the texture being grainy, it’s like eating dirt. We won’t get this again for that reason.
However, if you’re someone on a plant-based diet, this may be perfect for you. We did find that the berry compote helped out the cake, and the ice cream was actually really good, to the point we couldn’t tell that it was plant-based.
Twinings Iced Green Tea with Cranberry and Lime (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.50
It just tasted like cranberry juice with lime (and watered-down cranberry juice at that). Don’t bother ordering this.
Parish Brewing Co. Bloom Hazy IPA, Broussard, LA (7.0% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz. $9.50 for 12 oz.
Parish Brewing Co. describes their Bloom Hazy IPA as “a juicy, soft, hazy IPA absolutely loaded with Simcoe and Nugget hops. Often described as ‘bright and floral,’ Bloom lacks the resinous, piney flavors of many IPAs, instead exhibiting a depth of citrus undertones with an intense juicy overlay.”
*NEW* J. Lohr Wildflower Valdiguié ($12/bottle) – $6.50
According to J. Lohr, this “light-bodied” wine “displays inviting fresh raspberry, cranberry, and pomegranate aromas, with a bit of black pepper and hibiscus. Flavors of brambly, bright red berry with a touch of spice, mid-palate acidity, and a juicy, mouth-watering finish.”
Twinings Iced Green Tea with Cranberry and Lime with Hangar 1 Makrut Lime Vodka ($30/bottle) Served in a Mason Jar – $11.50
Honestly, the vodka goes a long way to fix this drink, but not far enough. The vodka seemed to eliminate all of the other intended flavors though. Pass on this one as well.
