Disney has begun to remove 50th anniversary decorations from Magic Kingdom as “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” nears its end.
The two giant golden 50s that previously sat in the grass next to the Cinderella Castle moat are now gone.
The spot where one 50 sat is clearly visible next to the sea monster topiary on the east side of the Magic Kingdom “Hub.”
The other 50 was in the grass near the Winnie the Pooh and Piglet Fab 50 statue on the west side.
Here is what the two decorations looked like.
Before they were moved to the Hub, the golden 50s were in front of the Main Street, U.S.A. train station.
Walt Disney World turned 50 on October 1, 2021, kicking off 18 months of The World’s Most Magical Celebration. The celebration will officially come to an end on March 31, 2023.

I really hope they keep the Fab 50 statues…maybe spray them silver 😂! I had to cancel my trip last year and was looking forward to seeing and hearing them with my MagicBand+. 🤞🏻
As minor as this change seems, it’s still disappointing to see Disney jump the gun like this, especially when some of us planned our trips to coincide with the final week of the 50th celebration. If Disney keeps up with these premature transitions, I fear we might get shortchanged. Hopefully other “extras” – like the early Easter stuff at Grand Floridian – will show up to compensate for this.
Do you think they’ll have Disney 100 decorations up by April 3rd?
I am arriving later this week expressly for a Disney50 finale 2.0 visit (was there in Oct 2022). One of the things I wanted to do get some things done that I missed. Some having to do with photos and this was one of them. Holy cow, they can’t wait 2 weeks.??? I’ve already been so I can suck it up… feeling sorry people who are trying to fit in their Disney50 trip before March 31st. Disney is a lot of things (like Expensive)… but they were never cheap with their magic until recently. I first noticed it on Mickey’s birthday in 2018.
