The Lost Continent

The Lost Continent is one of the “islands” of Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Unlike most of the other lands in the park, it’s not based on a singular IP, but instead inspired by myths, legends, and fantasy. Its main attraction is Poseidon’s Fury, in the Lost City section of the land. The walkthrough attraction reopened last year after a two-year refurbishment. Hosted by the character of Taylor, guests travel through the ancient temple of Poseidon, searching for Taylor’s boss Professor Baxter and avoiding Poseidon’s enemy, the Dark One.

The marketplace section of The Lost Continent is Sindbad’s Bazaar, where guests can interact with the talking Mystic Fountain. both Poseidon’s Fury and the Mystic Fountain have been part of Universal’s Islands of Adventure since opening day, though Poseidon’s Fury was changed significantly. A stunt show, The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad, closed in 2018.

The Lost Continent previously had a section called Merlinwood, which housed the Flying Unicorn and Dueling Dragons roller coasters, and Enchanted Oak Tavern. The Flying Unicorn became Flight of the Hippogriff and Dueling Dragons became Dragon Challenge when Merlinwood was partially demolished for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Enchanted Oak Tavern was demolished. Dragon Challenge ultimately closed and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure replaced it.

All Hallows Eve Boutique, a year-round Halloween shop, is in The Lost Continent.
