Disney to Roll Out Combined App for Disney+ and Hulu This Year

The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger announced during today’s Q2 2023 earnings call that they will roll out a new one-app experience that combines Disney+ and Hulu.

The streaming services will still have their own separate apps. The combined app will roll out later this year.

Though Disney+ lost 4 million subscribers globally this quarter, Disney cut their streaming losses by $400 million.

Disney’s second fiscal quarter ran from early January to late March. The entirety of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” season 2 aired during this quarter, and “The Mandalorian” season 3 premiered. “National Treasure: Edge of History” ended and was later canceled.

“Encanto” on Disney+ topped Nielsen’s list of streaming movies last year. Check out our list of everything new coming to Disney+ in 2023.

The Walt Disney Company reported a total of $21.8 billion in revenue. Disney Parks, Experiences and Products accounts for over a third of that total, making $7.78 billion.
