Binx Cat Plush – $26.99

The following two items were spotted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, in Island Mercantile.

This plush is inspired by Thackery Binx, a teenage boy from the year 1693 who is cursed to forever live as a black cat by the Sanderson Sisters. He lives with the guilt of not being able to save his sister Emily from the three witches so long ago. In the first film, the protagonists of 1993 seek to help him break his curse.

With piercing yellow eyes, Binx is a standard black cat, though he does come with a collar displaying his name.

Winifred Sanderson, the oldest and most powerful.

Sarah Sanderson, the youngest who uses her voice to lure children.

Mary Sanderson, the middle sister, who has the ability to find children through smell.

Each sister is covered in a cloak and carries a broomstick (except for Mary, who is left with a vacuum).

The Sanderson Sisters are the star witch trio of the 1993 Disney film “Hocus Pocus” and its 2022 sequel “Hocus Pocus 2.” In the movies, they are portrayed by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. In the original, 300 years after the trio was last seen, they are accidentally resurrected due to a curse they left behind. Unless they can suck the life out of at least one child before Halloween ends, they will turn to dust when the sun rises.

While not initially a box office success during its original 1993 release, “Hocus Pocus” has become a staple of the Halloween season, having repeated viewings on Freeform throughout the month of October, its own stage show at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World, and plenty of themed merchandise and food offerings

In June 2023, a Walt Disney Studios executive confirmed “Hocus Pocus 3” would be happening.

Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle will appear in Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Parade dressed as the Sanderson Sisters.

This will be at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party later this year in Magic Kingdom. The same trio appeared last year at Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure
