Guests can scurry around the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival on the hunt for a great chef with the return of Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak!
Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Map – $9.99
Maps for this year’s scavenger hunt can be purchased at Creations Shop, Disney Traders, Port of Entry, World Traveler, or at festival merchandise kiosks located around EPCOT.
The outside of the map features an intricate design that includes silhouettes of Remy and Emile, as well as a wedge of cheese and an Eiffel Tower constructed of kitchen utensils such as a knife, fork, spoon, plate, and a pair of salt and pepper shakers.
The map opens up to reveal the general locations of where each Remy figure can be found. Keep an eye out, as some are at World Showcase pavilions, while others will be seen at various Global Marketplaces.
The instructions read as follows:
Help Remy as he ventures around EPCOT to collect the ingredients for his signature dish, Ratatouille. As you find Remy with each ingredient throughout the Festival, place the corresponding sticker on the map to represent that location.
As described in the instructions, the map also includes a sticker sheet of Remy gathering what he needs to make ratatouille, including tomatoes, olive oil, squash, garlic, eggplant, zucchini, salt, pepper, carrots, onion, and green pepper.
The map can be redeemed at Creations Shop, Disney Traders, or World Traveler for a special prize, which this year happens to be one of four different insulated lunch bags. Guests don’t necessarily have to complete the map to collect the prize, so whether you undergo Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak or would rather just keep it unused as a collectible, you can still get the lunch bag.
The lunch bags all feature patterns centered around Disney characters seen in merchandise collections for this year’s festival.
First up is this bag starring EPCOT’s resident dragon of imagination: Figment! For Food & Wine, he appropriately dons a chef’s hat.
He’s surrounded by pots and pans, along with plenty of purple foods, like grapes, eggplant, and purple shrimp.
Next is this blue bag starring the family Madrigal from “Encanto.”
Mirabel, Isabela, Antonio, Luisa, and Bruno are all smiles as they appear amid items popular in Colombian (and Latin) cooking, like corn, shrimp, tamales, and empanadas.
The inside is covered with a simple foil lining. Our reporters noted that it didn’t look terribly strong, so it may require an ice pack to keep things really cold.
The third bag shows Mickey and Minnie Mouse, both wearing chef’s hats on a dark blue background.
Mickey looks particularly excited to cook up some fun as he gives a wink. Or maybe he’s just happy to see all the food that surrounds him?
Finally, there’s one back that features the star of Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak himself, Remy. He can be seen on a light green background amid pans, whisks, a coffee grinder, and plenty of cheese.
In addition to Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak, there are two other challenges guests can take at EPCOT during the festival. Emile’s Fromage Montage invites guests to try select cheese-based dishes being served at the festival. Once five of those are marked off in the Festival Passport, they can be redeemed for a completer reward at Shimmering Sips. Items eligible for Emile’s Fromage Montage can be found on the menus around the park. Additionally, from September 29 through October 31, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit takes guests on a Halloween quest around EPCOT to find pumpkins resembling Disney characters.
