VIDEO: Josh D’Amaro Walks on Future Lake at Walt Disney Studios Park Expansion in Disneyland Paris

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro shared a quick video update on social media about the ongoing expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris — while walking on a shallow body of water that will one day be a lake.

D’Amaro and President of Disneyland Paris Natacha Rafalski were both in the video, which was posted as a Reel to D’Amaro’s Instagram account.

In the video, D’Amaro runs through some of the things he was able to see during his visit to Disneyland Paris, including the refurbished Disneyland Hotel that’s set to reopen next year, and the new ‘TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure” show.

Rafalski follows up by sharing that they’re both standing in the middle of a future a lake, included in the expansion for Walt Disney Studios Park. This will be the home of the Lake Promenade. The Arendelle — World of “Frozen” land construction stands behind them.

This Lake Promenade will lead the way to the new land, and will contain gardens “based on Disney stories.” There will also be a table service restaurant that offers views of the lake and the “Frozen” themed land. While plans have changed since the above concept art for the lake area was released, it still offers a decent idea of its placement.

Thankfully, both D’Amaro and Rafalski were wearing rain boots, so no shoes were ruined in the making of the video.

Construction has been ongoing for years on a major expansion of the small park, including updates to Production Courtyard and Toon Studio, pre-existing lands at the park’s entrance. They will be refurbished from November 2023 to May 2025, including the update to Studio 1, with a theater zone theme.

The Lake Promenade expansion to Walt Disney Studios Park will be home to the “Tangled Round Ride,” a spinner based on the 2010 animated film about Rapunzel, and will lead guests to the new Arendelle – World of “Frozen” land. There will also be an updated Toy Story Playland entrance, a new English Gardens area, a floor rosette, and a food truck. The multi-functional East Pavilion will be near the “Tangled” ride and across from a new table-service restaurant.
