REVIEW: DOLE Whip Mango Habañero Hades Cone Brings Unique Flavor to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2023

Guests at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can find a DOLE Whip mango and habañero Hades Cone, inspired by the villain from “Hercules,” at Storybook Treats at Magic Kingdom. The treat is served exclusively at times at which Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is taking place.

If you’ve ever fancied yourself a competitive eater, this cone will allow you to put your skills to the test. You’ll have maybe a minute to consume this treat before it becomes a wet mess that muddies your entire hand.

The presentation is our biggest gripe here; while the decorations lining and festivities occurring at Walt Disney World Resort would lead you to believe that it’s fall, Mother Nature disagrees. Serving a Whip with a liquefied drizzle in a narrow cone is not a recipe for success in the Florida heat, and we think that this dessert should be served in a cup until fall actually arrives.

With that in mind, the blue raspberry shell is quite tasty. It takes a bit to adjust to the initially strange flavor, but once your taste buds get used to it, it’s an effective complement to the Whip.

The ice cream itself does have a bit of spice, with the sweet fruitiness of the mango effectively balancing with the heat of the habañero to create a tasty final product. This DOLE Whip reminds us of the BB-8-themed Loyal Astromech Swirl that was available at Swirls on the Water at Disney Springs in May, and we think it’s another win as Walt Disney World continues to experiment with spicy ice cream. Just serve it in a bowl for the time being.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from August 11 through November 1 on select nights. A separate ticket is required to attend.
