REVIEW: Sausage, Egg, and Cheddar Pretzel Roll for Breakfast at The Friar’s Nook in Magic Kingdom

For those looking to find a quick breakfast bite at Magic Kingdom, there’s a new pretzel roll sandwich in Fantasyland, replacing what used to be offered on a croissant.

We spotted this item at The Friar’s Nook, located across from the entrance to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

We didn’t want to like this sandwich, since former items at this location have come with a fluffy and flaky croissant bun, and the pretzel bun has already been part of their lunch offerings, but the replacement is actually not bad.

This pretzel bun does not disappoint. It’s a little difference from other pretzel buns we’ve tried, and feels quite sturdy if you wanted to start walking to your next attraction while eating. Occasionally, the sausage does try to escape, but luckily, it’s held in with the cheese and egg. As long as you keep a firm grip, you shouldn’t lose anything to gravity.

Overall, it’s a serviceable, simple breakfast sandwich. The egg is fine but definitely made in bulk while the cheese is barely noticeable. The sausage is quite delicious and packed with flavor. That element shines while the other ingredients are sort of resting in the background. The pretzel bun is a fun new way to have breakfast at Friar’s Nook and not such a bad change to their offerings.
