Seuss Landing is undergoing various refurbishment projects throughout the land at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-Pendous remains closed. Let’s take a look at current progress on the work happening in the land.
Moose Juice, Goose Juice Sign
The spinning sign for Moose Juice, Goose Juice is missing from its usual spot.
While there’s no confirmed reason for the missing sign, it’s likely just been removed for refurbishment.
Seuss Landing Policeman Statue
The Seuss Landing Policeman photo op next to the entrance of Mulberry Street Store is behind blue construction walls.
Normally, this photo op shows the policeman on a motorbike, and guests can pose for photos in the sidecar.
It’s presumably just getting a quick spruce-up.
The Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-Pendous!
The Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-Pendous! temporarily closed for refurbishment in June of this year with no reopening date scheduled, according to Universal Orlando’s official site.
At the start of the summer, guests could still walk inside Circus McGurkus and the Star side of The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride.
Now, however, construction walls are completely blocking the entrance to the restaurant.
Windows are covered from the inside with plastic, so you can’t see any work going on.
The “tent” roof had exterior cracks repaired earlier this year.

At the moment, the trolley is only running its Beech track, which is the aqua-colored track.
The purple track shown above is the Star track, which is currently closed, as it runs through Circus McGurkus and would take guests right past whatever work is going on inside.
The Cat in the Hat
Over at The Cat in the Hat attraction, short metal barriers have been blocked around various planters between the ride and its gift shop.
Single-pot plants have also been added around the perimeter of the planter.
Shorter potted plants have also been staged in this area, covering another part of the planter.
It’s possible that these plants are just in place to distract from yet another refresh.
Seuss Landing Repairs
Seuss Landing has been in need of repairs for some time now. Two winter holiday seasons ago, part of the land’s entrance arch collapsed, and needed to be removed. Even though this happened back in December of 2021, it still has not been repaired.
The Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-Pendous! is usually utilized during the winter holidays for a holiday tour and a special event Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast, so we assume they will want the location open in time for the holiday season. They may be beginning repairs now in hopes that everything will be fresh and ready for guest enjoyment by the time the busy holiday season arrives.
While the construction walls and temporary planters aren’t the nicest thing to look at, it is good to know that work is being done to get this land back in visual shape.
