While the walls are down, rolling planters have taken their place to discourage guests from getting too close.

Moana will meet guests in this area starting October 16. She will also continue meeting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom through at least October 31.

An overhang offers some shade to the Moana meet and greet area, as the character would otherwise be standing in direct sunlight. This meet and greet is located across from Journey of Water. There are also lamps in place, should the character meet guests when the attraction transforms at night.

Here’s a look a the Moana meet and greet from another angle. More rolling planters are present to block this area off completely from guests for the time being.

Previews for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members for Journey of Water concluded yesterday, October 4.

The attraction guides guests through the cycle of water and “encourages us to protect the world’s water cycle.” It combines interactive water experiences with information about the Earth’s water supply, ringing true to EPCOT’s original goal of offering attractions that both entertain and inform.

Two different paths — a Wet Path and a Dry Path — are offered. The walkthrough is intricately detailed and contains characters from “Moana” in both obvious and subtle ways; a large green depiction of Te Fiti, a goddess from the film, appears in the attraction, but characters from and references to the film are present throughout the walkthrough in ‘blink-and-you’ll-miss-it’ fashion.
