The Kernel Kitchen, located inside the Main Street Confectionery at Magic Kingdom, is now offering a new holiday peppermint popcorn.
The Kernel Kitchen is located where The Chapeau was before the major Main Street Confectionery reimagining in 2021. It’s accessible through any Main Street Confectionery entrance, but this one facing Town Square leads directly into the Kernel Kitchen.
There is a sign for the holiday peppermint popcorn on the Kernel Kitchen counter.
Holiday Peppermint Popcorn – $15.99
Peppermint flavored candy popcorn with M&M’s milk chocolate candies, crushed peppermint candy, mini marshmallows, and dark chocolate and white chocolate drizzle
After ordering any kind of popcorn treat, guests get to watch Cast Members put together the order.
When it comes to the holiday peppermint popcorn, the Cast Member puts a scoop of red and green popcorn into a paper bowl, filling it about halfway, and then tops that with candies and mini marshmallows.
Then they drizzle the concoction with chocolate.
The process is repeated to fill the rest of the bowl, with another layer of popcorn, candies, marshmallows, and chocolate drizzle.
The popcorn is easy to carry around and snack on throughout the day thanks to a plastic lid.
This is a fun and filling holiday treat that gets you in the Christmas mood.
As far as the popcorn mix tastes, it’s a home run. Sometimes, you can get too adventurous when mixing popcorn and end up with flavors that don’t mesh well together. But this combo is perfect.
The dark chocolate and white chocolate drizzle is a delicious mess that helps keep the crushed peppermint in every bite. Every once in a while, you’ll get a gooey mini marshmallow or crunchy M&M.
The popcorn itself is peppermint-flavored. If you’ve had flavored popcorn in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you might know what to expect. It’s a bit chewier than your typical popcorn.
This is a treat you could make at home, but if you want it at Magic Kingdom, it’s a nice holiday offering. Peppermint lovers will especially enjoy it, and it’s big enough to share with the family. Picky eaters, or anyone who doesn’t like flavored popcorn or peppermint flavoring won’t like it.
Other holiday-inspired treats are available at the Main Street Confectionery, and even more special food and beverage items are available across Walt Disney World Resort.
